Reading With Your Ears

Tonight I was going to post my review of Veronica Roth's "Divergent". I went over it several times in my head, but every time I tried to write something, I felt like it was incomplete. This may be because instead of reading the book, I actually listened to it in audiobook form. I generally like audiobooks. Maybe it reminds me of being read to as a little kid. It usually helps me visualize the action, because I can hear the narrative voice. I fell in love with Ethan Wate from Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia's "Beautiful Creatures" after listening to the audiobook. But I was not able to get into the story of Divergent via the audiobook. So in order to give it a fair and proper review, I've decide to read the actual book before I write anything. Hopefully in the next couple of days, I'll have an accurate review of "Divergent."

Until then, Cheers and Happy Reading!

  1. I love audiobooks, but I know what you mean about it not working for every book. I have struggle a lot when I did not like the narrator.

  2. I'm following you now! I love audiobooks for long car rides! Sometimes I'll just listen to them while I'm cleaning the house too! Beautiful Creatures is probably my favorite audiobook I've ever listened to. I even searched the narrator to see what else he'd done, and downloaded those too. He's has a dreamy voice... :)
