Absence

Hello friends!

I've been absent for a while, and I feel as if I ought to explain!
On June 30th, I went out of town with my family to my Grandmother's lakehouse to celebrate the 4th. That day, my Dad had a massive heart attack and was airlifted to the nearest hospital. After undergoing emergency bypass surgery, he remained in the Cardiac ICU for 6 days before they were able to move him to the Cardiac Care Unit for another 5 days before we were able to bring him home. During that time, we were living out of a hotel, and spending our days in the hospital in Tyler, Texas. He came home on Wednesday this week and has been doing very well. He's been getting stronger and stronger every day!

I'm so thankful that he's home now and that everything seems to have turned out okay. This has been the reason for my absence. The next few months are going to be a lot of work to try and get him healthy again, he can't drive or work really for 6 weeks, so I'll be helping my mom out a lot (they're also getting ready to sell their house!) Additionally, because I work for my Dad, my workload has more than tripled, which I can handle no problem. But all of this is to say that for the next few weeks or so, I won't be posting as often as I have been. I'll still try to post a few reviews a week, but it probably won't be every day, at least not for the next few weeks.

The Blogoversary Giveaway is still going full-steam ahead, so keep doing those entries! Thanks again for your understanding, and keep on reading! I still want to hear about what y'all are reading and enjoying!

  10. I am so sorry to hear about your dad- but I am happy to hear that he is on the road to recovery. I am glad that you are there to help out your parents at home and work. It is scary when things like this happen (my father just had emergency heart surgery last month and I was so stressed out). Sending warm wishes your way.

  13. Thank you all so much for your comments and for your thoughts and prayers! My father is now doing so much better, and his cardiologist has said that he's almost back to his normal self and should be cleared for driving (okay) and working (wait, let's try half-days for a bit, Dad!) in the next few weeks! I cannot stress enough how much I appreciate all of your support while I've been gone. I'm going to be resuming some blogging now that he's doing so much better, and can't wait to catch up with all of you and see what you've been reading!
