What I'm Reading: Get Even by Gretchen McNeil

About Me

Greetings Fellow Book Junkies!

My name's Courtney and I am a Texas born and bred Book Junkie! I've always loved to read and write and then talk to people about what I read and write. One of my favorite things to do though is to curl up in my fuzzy slippers with a great cup of coffee and a good book. And then tell everyone about it!

I have a pretty eclectic taste in books, which translates to I'll read anything with words.
Some of my favorite books include:
The Giver by Lois Lowry
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
Hamlet by William Shakespeare

I'm way pickier when it comes to my coffee, although I got a Keurig for Christmas, so I've been branching out some. My current coffee of choice: Newman's Own Special Blend Organic Extra Bold, with a drop of CoffeeMate Italian Sweet Cream creamer.

My slippers are the same battered pink ones with Mickey Mouse on them that I got several years ago at Walt Disney World!
Other than that, I live in Texas with the sweetest little puppy in the world, Sophie. She's pretty spoiled.
I work in the financial industry, mostly to support my book-buying habit. It's a dangerous one, I know. I also love writing, traveling, listening to podcasts, and talking to other people about what they're reading. I'm always looking for suggestions, so let me know what it is you're reading!
Why books?
Reading gives people the opportunity to go somewhere else, somewhere new and different. A good book will take you to a world you may never have even imagined, give you something new to think about, and leave you somehow changed from what you were before you read it. My favorite books are the ones that immerse me so completely in their world, that coming back to my reality is like coming home from a trip. It gives you things to reflect on.
So remember: "The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
-Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"

Cheers and Happy Reading!
